White gold is an alloy of gold and at least one white metal (usually nickel, silver, or palladium).
Like yellow gold, the purity of white gold is given in carats.
In the jewellery industry, rhodium plating is used to give White Gold it’s Platinum looking finish, while also offering protection. The true colour of White Gold – i.e. without the Rhodium plating – appears as Silver with a champagne hue.
